On 15 July 2024, memoirist, essayist, poet, fiction writer, and scholar Ingrid Horrocks spoke to Kate Duignan as part of Writers on Mondays. Ingrid was the 2024 Writer in Residence at the International Institute of Modern Letters (IIML). Her writing across genres explores voyages women take; whether set in Croatia, the Amazon, Scandinavia, or Days Bay, she writes vividly of women travelling in the company of family, journeying in pods, moving in response to kinship ties. The Australian Book Review called her most recent book of essays ‘luminous’ and ‘a work of wondrous depth’. Here Ingrid talks about the breadth of her work, and her recent turn to fiction.
